‘TROBA GAUDÍ’

Gaudí Year 2026

In 2026, Parc Samà will join in the commemoration of Gaudí Year with the special programme ‘Troba Gaudí’

an initiative to discover the traces of Modernism and Gaudí’s inspiration in the unique historic garden on the Costa Daurada.

Through visits, cultural activities, educational initiatives and artistic experiences, the garden invites visitors to observe nature, architecture and landscape through the eyes of Antoni Gaudí and his close relationship with Josep Fontserè, author of the park’s original design.

WHAT YOU WILL FIND IN ‘TROBA GAUDÍ’

ACTIVITIES

Reopening of the Torre Ángulo Viewpoint

Following cleaning, painting and waterproofing work, the viewpoint will reopen to the public, offering privileged views of the garden and 360º panoramic views of the coast and the natural surroundings.

The design of the vaults of this Viewpoint Tower (On the map >> Viewpoint Tower 20) is based on simple geometric shapes and natural materials with the idea of integrating architecture and landscape into the garden of Parc Sama. A structure inspired by nature.

The park’s grottoes and the hyperbolic paraboloid

Gruta del Taxodium

On the different levels of the Mirador Tower, the Taxodium Grotto, the Canal Grotto and the Waterfall (On the map >> Torre Mirador 20, Taxodium Grotto 8 and Canal Grotto and Waterfall 10) mirrors will be installed on the floor, allowing visitors to observe the vaults and appreciate the use of catenary arches and hyperbolic paraboloids, architectural solutions that Gaudí developed for their structural efficiency and natural beauty.

Educational programme for schools

As part of the environmental education programme, https://parcsama.es/visita-escolar/  will offer schools the ‘La Senda de Gaudí’ (Gaudí’s Path) tour, an itinerary through different areas of the park where the elements inspired by Gaudí’s architecture and their relationship with nature are explained. Informative posters identify the points where the artist’s mark can be seen.

As a complementary activity, there will be a workshop on the catenary arch, a hands-on experience with ropes, weights and mirrors to provide an educational understanding of the shapes used by Gaudí.

Aquariums and conservation

Restoration of the aquariums in the Canal and Waterfall Grotto
To mark Gaudí Year, the historic indoor aquariums in the Canal and Waterfall Grotto (see On the map >> Canal and Waterfall Grotto 10) will be restored to their former state, having been in operation until 1930. These spaces will house species of fish and amphibians linked to conservation and environmental education projects, typical of the Mediterranean ecosystem..

Parc Samà invites all photography enthusiasts to participate in its new contest, “The Gaudí Essence in Parc Samà,” a cultural initiative that is part of the Gaudí Year celebrations.

Cambrils International Music Festival

Parc Samà, one of the venues for the Cambrils International Music Festival
A unique event that revisits the origins of the Cambrils International Music Festival, one of the major cultural highlights of the summer on the Costa Daurada.
This year, the 51st edition of the festival returns to one of its most emblematic spaces, the place where it was practically born half a century ago, and which, once again, will offer visitors a unique musical experience in an incomparable natural and historical setting.
The historic garden of Parc Samà will host two classical music performances that connect directly with the essence and origins of the festival: July 29: La Grande Chapelle, and August 3: Quartet Gerhard.

Special Eclipse and Wine Pairing

The historic garden of Parc Samà presents a unique way to enjoy the solar eclipse, fusing music, wine, and astronomy.
On August 12th, starting at 7:00 PM, the park offers this singular activity to fully appreciate the beauty of the eclipse. Tickets are now available.
